Placement Opportunities at IHM Hamirpur

The Institute offers promising on-campus placement opportunities to its students. To achieve this, IHM Hamirpur:

  • Provides a platform for recruiters to connect with interested candidates.

This approach enables students to secure rewarding career opportunities and establishes IHM Hamirpur as a hub for successful career launches.

General Rules

The CGPC strictly follows the “One Student – One Job Offer” policy to ensure fairness and equal opportunity for all students during the placement process.

Eligibility Criteria

To participate in placements, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum 60% aggregate in the NCHM curriculum up to the second year.
  • All NCHM examinations must be cleared up to the second year.
  • Minimum 75% attendance in both theory and practical classes.
  • Campus placement facilities are available only to bonafide and eligible students.

Guidelines Before Applying for Placements

Students are advised to:

  • Read all placement announcements carefully.
  • Visit company websites to understand their profiles and requirements.
  • Apply only if genuinely interested in the opportunity.
  • Be prepared to accept the offer if selected.

Students who are uncertain about accepting an offer are requested not to apply, as doing so may deprive fellow batchmates of valuable opportunities.

Resume and Documentation Guidelines

  • All students must use a professional resume format.
  • Information provided in resumes must be accurate and authentic.
  • Any student found submitting false or misleading information will be disqualified from placement activities for the remainder of the academic year.

All details mentioned in resumes will be verified by class counsellors with supporting documents.

Commitment to the Selection Process

Students who apply for placements and are shortlisted must:

  • Attend all stages of the recruitment process, including written tests, group discussions, interviews, etc.
  • Refrain from withdrawing midway or disrupting the process, as such actions negatively affect the professional image of IHM Hamirpur.

Students are strictly prohibited from contacting recruiting companies directly. Any such communication will be treated as a breach of placement guidelines and may lead to disqualification from further placement activities.

Students may withdraw from a placement process after applying by informing the Interview Coordinator in advance.

If a student chooses to withdraw acceptance of a job offer at any stage before the conclusion of the academic session (although discouraged), they must:

  • Inform the company immediately through email with a valid and justifiable reason.
  • Keep the CGPC informed by marking them in CC.

Off-Campus Placement Guidelines

  • Inform the institute in writing by 30 September 2025.
  • Keep the CGPC in CC while applying to companies via email or any other mode.

This ensures transparency and proper coordination with the institute.

The institute will not be responsible for any changes in company policies after campus placements, including location allocations or role modifications.

The institute does not interfere with company policies and allows recruiters to conduct their selection procedures according to their own guidelines and requirements.

Students are expected to uphold:

  • Compliance with placement guidelines

Any breach of placement guidelines will invite strict administrative action. The decision of the institute management in such matters shall be final and binding.

Dress Code for Company Interactions

Boys

  • Formal suit
  • White formal shirt
  • Tie
  • Oxford leather shoes
  • Handkerchief
  • Mild deodorant

Girls

  • Formal suit with white shirt and tie OR
  • Formal-coloured saree
  • Light makeup and minimal accessories
  • Handkerchief
  • Mild perfume

This dress code reflects professionalism and respect towards visiting recruiters.

Punctuality, Discipline and Ethics

Students must report on time for:

  • Presentations
  • Aptitude Tests
  • Group Discussions (GD)
  • Interviews
  • Other placement-related activities

Latecomers will not be allowed to participate in the selection process.

Students are expected to maintain discipline and demonstrate ethical conduct throughout the placement process and after joining the organization.

Pre-Placement Offers (PPO) / Off-Campus Offers

Students receiving PPOs or off-campus offers must:

  • Inform the CGPC immediately upon receiving the offer.
  • Submit the acceptance letter through the CGPC.

Upon acceptance of a PPO or off-campus offer, the student will be deregistered from the campus placement process.

Additional Instructions

Students are advised to remain prepared for placement activities at short notice due to unforeseen scheduling changes.

Keep the following ready at all times:

  • At least three sets of resumes
  • Four passport-size photographs
  • Original and photocopies of certificates related to curricular and extracurricular activities

Ensure that all certificates correspond with the details mentioned in the resume/CV.

Students must regularly check:

  • Email communications
  • WhatsApp group announcements from CGPC

for updates regarding:

  • PPT schedules
  • Test schedules
  • Interview schedules
  • Venue notifications
  • Other important announcements

Requests for printouts and photocopies during placement activities will be entertained only on a chargeable basis as per institute policy.

Students must maintain cordial and respectful behaviour with recruiters at all times. Recruiters should be treated as valued guests of the institute.

Any conflict or misconduct may create a negative impression on the institute and its students.

Only students who have cleared all semester fee dues will be permitted to participate in campus placements and subsequent recruitment rounds.

For subject-specific queries, students are advised to consult third-year faculty members or other subject experts.

Note

Any disputes or issues arising during the placement process will be resolved by the Principal / Head of Department (HoD). Their decision shall be final and binding.
